Baby Choo: Pose

From my previous post, I remembered some pics of T I took wherein he surprisingly posed with his Dada like this...

Closer look...

Crossed legs 'blogger pose'! Where did he learn this? Here are some more...
T was in a good mood for pictures, it was a good day.

Top◦Zara// Shorts with suspenders◦Zara// Shoes◦Florsheim

Aren't his shoes classic? I'm so glad these fit so well now.We bought this for a wedding a year ago to pair with his barong. It was a very hot Sunday and we'd come straight from church, so though I put T in shorts I tried to amp it up with respectable Monsignor-approved shoes. Its the perfect marriage of casual chic  & formal, you really can wear this pair both ways. I remember my dad saying that for formal events Florsheim or Cole Haan was his go-to. And you really can't put a price on good quality shoes. More than completing your outfit, shoes carry you.

Of all places, where do you think we were? You see some grass, catering tables, and M at the back (above)

We were actually at a cemetery for a breakfast buffet, celebrating the death anniversary of my grandma. See.

A lesson kids, don't forget your beloved departed, they pray for you in heaven.

T was especially happy that day because he was comfortable with what he was wearing. So a happy baby is a happy mommy. I'm glad I chose this shirt instead of this one...

What do you think? As its obvious I really love Zara, there's really something about 100% cotton that's so luxurious. Soo for a baby. Even their denim pants are lightweight. Really great for hot summer days like that.

Baby Choo: Pool Party Rewind

In true Filipino fashion, just like a debut, T had a couple of looks....
And because most of the mommy readers of my previous blog show more interest in this section (who wouldn't), here goes post number one of the Baby Choo series.

First, was his Swim outfit # 1:

"Here Comes Trouble" rashguard◦gifted// Swimming shorts◦Speedo//Aqua shoes◦ Fisher-Price

As you can already see ...the idea of a baby Lookbook will fail.  Because as cute as your baby can be and no matter how zsashing his duds are, at this age, he won't stay still. The rashguard as you remember, was what he wore in his invite.

This is Bday Outfit # 1:

Just kidding, here he is in his Birthday Suit. Look how cute Dada is trying to hide his um, monster. Oh my, I hope aliens invade and crash our systems by the time T gets to read this. (Forgive the posing background-us!) Outfit # 1 was this...

Striped polo shirt◦Diesel// Bermuda shorts◦Zara//Shoes◦Native
I let T wear this shirt first before changing into this...

Blue pique shirt◦Zara// Bermuda shorts◦Zara//Shoes◦Native
I have this thing for color blocking. I believe that basic colors for clothes are so versatile. Especially when you have a toddler who grows like beanstalk overnight, and just can't help but be messy, basics are easy to mix and match. Well, kids really don't mind what they wear, dressing them up is more for the parents really. And with active toddlers, comfort and breathability (such a word?)...easy breezy is key. With T's bermudas, I got them in the color I was looking for, for my own...better luck for T then, its such a cool summer color.
Its just now that I noticed T's shorts with hems unfolded, hmmm...anyway, folded bermudas or not, I wish they also had these in stock.

I actually found white ones like these at H & M only in T's size in a few months.
And I really love the Jefferson Natives, bringing breathable shoes to another level huh? When Natives became the trend a year ago, I swore I won't give in....but that's what I said with Crocs too. With my line of work, Crocs just do it for me.
I can't wait to see these babies in person...

in Popsicle Orange and Picnic Green! Too cute! As the tag says: Washable, Waterproof, BEAST free, Shock Absorbent and Water Resistant. If you've noticed my first ever blog photo, I'm glad I also got a pair. It actually was the "take 1" of Dada's when we had a stopover at R.O.X. in Marquee Mall,Pampanga. I   really wanted a nude, black or brown one, but the Dada convinced me to be girly for once.hehe.

Swim Outfit # 2:
Rashguard + Bottoms/ Quiksilver

Sorry dears. If I knew I'd be making an outfit blog, I could've taken 'blogger photos' ...which reminds me, ...oh well I'll just write about it later...Ciao!

Ciao: T's Pool Party

                                                                                                                                                            Cake by G-licious (see here)
Ciao! I greet you, yes you, my 4 guests who checked this blog out. (kilig) I swear, I'm not doing an Anna Banana here. And because you patiently read through my semi-novels, I owe you some colorful posts.
So here are takes from my son T's (advanced) 2nd birthday/E's Thanksgiving (for passing her exams) pool party. And yes, faces will be revealed.
Here's T showing some excitement to swim...

Gasp, ok I fainted a bit. But its not so bad after all, my posting a pic of someone I'm most protective of... hmm...feels alright I guess. You see, even in Facebook I have very specific security settings. Step 1 accomplished.
Back to story, I had less than a week to prepare for his...well, because I was lazy (as anyone is on her vacation). But in between Khloe beating up Scott on KUWTK reruns, I figured that I gotta do something special for T. I was away on training during his first birthday,so we just had a quiet celebration at home. Quite unconventional for our family, as we love celebrating first birthdays in a bongga way. Actually, the place was booked a month before. We live within a few minutes ride to the beach, so we found this resort one lazy sunday.
It was May, it was starting to rain, and my sisters will soon leave for Manila for school. So we figured that a "last summer hurrah" was befitting. And T loves anything about the sea.
Here are the invites I hand (& scissor-) made, hehe (without the details of course!) using one of his recent pics.
I like it old school yes.

We thought of an overall look for the party (I stray away from the word theme).

Yep, I made all of those. And these...

from whatevers at home, some styro (bad for the enviro) cups, crepe paper, ...brown paper packages tied up with string...yes these are a few of my favorite things.....(pasok Madame Julie)

...some dugong (sea cow) cutouts....see! I do my part, heres raising awareness for their species! Cute!

...some beach pails, candy and googly eyes...

which translated to this...

The perfect beach picnic basket! I've repacked old school chips (Rinbee, Peewee, Snacku and Cheese-it) for us oldies just because we outnumber the real kids...hehe...but they enjoyed this Candy Bar more...

Mik-Mik (R) , remember this? This actually came from the Dada's stash and not originally included in the mix.

Not pictured are the fruit and cola-flavored ice candies which saved us from the sweltering heat (not for T though).

While I was busy shouting at the party planners (M & F, sorry)...T was busy having the pool to himself while waiting for his guests...

Another with his Ninong, while the Boss (T's Nana) blew bubbles like there was no tomorrow.

Tied some kites and wind catchers (not pictured) to the poles to make it more summery.

This was at Tokyo Private Beach Resort (San Fabian, Pangasinan) by the way, just along the resorts strip. Despite the shady name, they were kind enough to accommodate us in such short notice and also lent us the use of the whole place! Except that two-floored bldg.pictured on the right (below). They provided us with 3 family bedrooms, their restaurant space including the bar, 2 bahay kubos or Pinoy cabanas, even their chafing dishes to utensils, a big lot of a parking space, and wi-fi! Yea!

Come 9a.m. T was forced out of the pool for his nap, so when he woke up and saw all his titos and titas in the pool....

Good thing the cupcakes arrived! Some yummy Smores cupcakes and special "blue" velvet ones made by Dada's cousin.

Details of his cake, which bore his name of course. Fish look like Pepperidge Farm Goldfish cookies right?

My sweet in-laws provided the seafood. I wasn't able to take pics of the whole spread as they all got grabbed so fast.

And whats a Filipino party without Lechon? (Thanks Ninangs M & F) Heres my mom-in-law hamming it up for the cam. Hehe, bad joke.

Here we are getting ready to blow the candles...

Yey, we now have a toddler!

As a little thank you to the kids...they had lotsa bubbles (sunblock too! got to be responsible hosts)

Had a little raffle for the kids to get their floaters...

And earrings which the  adult girls boys loved! Go figure.

I tried to squeeze in some pool time while the oldie oldies were having merienda, and the boys having some oysters and beers...

And as I was just about to grab a dry towel, look who I caught gobbling on some ice candy....

Ok sweetie, just one (or perhaps two) its your party anyway.
