Ciao: Forgive my originality

As I do my "butter-churning" dance to celebrate my third post, my younger sister M's blog just turned two! And probably, the youngest sister F's (many) blogs already had their kinsenyetas.
Sadly I cannot claim to be the first blogger in the house since I really didn't let anyone know of this secret shame. And I'm actually happy about it because we 3 are so close that we basically think of the same things hence write about the same things. I cringe every time we have the same topics, and cringe even more because M has already written a full-length article on it before i even decide on its title. And like any Facebook generation person I know, reaches out up to Jupiter because each has a Twitter, Instagram and #othersIstillhavetoknow. I don't.

Up to this post, I still live day to day pretending to be a snob. So forgive me for being self-indulgent with my previous posts, that was my intention, hehe. I plan to blog, but not be a blogger. Yougehdit.
For the many years I've put off making blog #4, I've then lived thru others' blogs. I learned that some of my heroes and frenemies also had blogs. So this really opened up my world. I really wish I had the dedication to keep up a blog. Moreso, I wish I had the patience to maintain it. So instead of doing this (and reviewing for my licensure exams) I spent my time browsing through pages and pages of the lives of celebrities, people I know and mostly don't.

And forgive me Ms.Van Straten, but I worship you.

If you follow her (you don't?! you loser), you'd realize that my blog design is a, ahem, homage to hers. Also, I'm new to blogspot so I still suck at its appearance. Another disclaimer: I may not accurately give photo credits yet, so forgive me copyright gods, it can be helped). Back to once-called Jirita Jackson , Oh polka-dotted one!  How I adore your minimalist aesthetic and your keen eye in spotting celebrity gray kilikilis. I would eat Pepper Lunch everyday just to meet you.
Hay, I could very well just retweet all her posts in agreement, but I don't have a Twitter account. I still am on a year-long debate on how I won't ever join Twitter because I just don't like anything that sounds like being a birdhead. Eep. And I love Muji.

I've also noticed that being a mother myself, I lean towards blogs by moms too. But with the occasional daily dose of the fasyown blogs, lead by...

...among others. Before you raise your eyebrows, yes I am fully aware that I'm slowly moving away from the Forever21 bracket. But her posts are just pretty! Just for inspiration...

Nah, I won't ever pull this off. But it's good she can. From her, ate learned that you splurge invest on bags and shoes, not really on clothes. Or better yet, maybe on these...

Love! I read Janina (and also Candy's) Dizon's blog with the same enthusiasm I have for chocolate. Whenever I want to feel, as she says, klaz. Ain't this just lovely?

Back to Mommy blogs, I feel like Christine Dychiao could very well be my mommy peg (sigh, I've controlled myself so much not to use that word). She always has a fresh take on things and has just the greatest finds...(Hello Grandma Minnie's Spot Remover, the best!) Disclaimer #3: Although I wish to be as influential as the aforementioned are, I don't advertise (show me the moneeh), simply because I don't get paid to do so.   But if I like something, I will mention. If I love something, I will mention again.
I just love her blog and am anticipating with her, the birth of her son Xavi (name crush!), and the ate-hood of her adorable little Berry. Check it out:

And for the piece de resistance, for the mommy I would love to be...of course, its Daphne Osena-Paez.

Her impeccable style and taste, her eye for art and most especially how she carries herself as a multi-hyphenate AND mother. After two more weekends, her husband is gonna file a restraining order for me to stop following her in Rockwell during Sundays. Sorry for that.

This post goes to show how mainstream (or not) I am in choosing blogs I follow. But (shrugs shoulder), I love them, I just do. So bare with me if I like what they like, I'll be careful not to post what they post. Please please tell me if I do. After all, these are what influence me these days.
As you get to know me more, you'll meet a girl who spent most of her childhood on Nancy Drew and Archie comics, spent her teens on Great Expectations  and Pride & Prejudice, then straight off to scholastics. Today, as said, I am a mother, who just finished her post-graduate studies and passed her licensure exams-on a seemingly never-ending vacation, while trying to earn a living but still waiting for her dream job. A vacation, may I say, that was lovingly bestowed upon me by the good Lord to help me catch up with the 21st century, take time to go on a date with the Dada, finally go out of the country, play dress up with my sisters (finally), watch Little Einsteins with my son, and to egad, look at the mirror.

So if you want a blog that it very intellectual-ish Catcher in the Rye-critiquing type, and don't mind constant shits and wadaf*cks, this is not it. Go to my sister M's. Or maybe if you are just another nerd searching for others aliens  like you, that is, or maybe you want a Laureen Uy by day/ Alodia Gosiengfao by night blog, then that's my other sister F's.
But if I got you to read this far from my many blah blahs, then thank you, filed posts and photodumping up next.
Ciao!

  1. I like the theme. Very muji. Very you, I do my fair share of fashionistas/writers stalking. It's just I do it over tumblr or instagram because I am not as fortunate with in-the-flesh sightings. I love how polaroid-ish the media platforms are. (Though I DID see and interact with Camille Co way before she was this famous in one of Rockwell's multiply bazaars years ago. She taught me and lil sis how to say 'Gosingtian'. Yes, it's
Tricia G. Lol. She was manning a stall which wasn't Coexist then. I forgot.)
Anyway, we all have people we look up to and hey, secretly hate for being public first with an idea you were still perfecting in your mind. Kainis that. Haha. Pero in the end its cool to know your brain waves aren't that different. As they say... Great minds blah blah.
